BELFOR, the world’s largest disaster restoration and recovery company is set to join Árón Taylor-Smith in this year’s British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
The 31-year-old Dublin based racing driver is set to return to the pinnacle of British Motorsport for the 2021 season, driving the brand new Cupra Leon supported by BELFOR.
BELFOR is no stranger to a motorsport program, with an on-going partnership in NASCAR and the Italian GT Endurance Championship, however, 2021 marks the first step in Britain as Árón Taylor-Smith returns to the BTCC for his seventh season. The BTCC is set to host another action-packed championship with a full capacity grid of 29 cars, all of which will be live on ITV. New to the grid for this season will be the stylish Cupra Leon, piloted by the Irish ace. One of the major headlines during the winter break has been Árón’s return to the series, in which BELFOR has played a helping hand.
“I am genuinely delighted to welcome BELFOR into my racing program for 2021. I always love to work with a new sponsor and get to show them what the BTCC has to offer, it’s a series like no other and offers a completely unique marketing platform.”
BELFOR operate across the UK and the BTCC partnership provides an unrivalled brand exposure through the media package associated with the series. In 2020 the BTCC boasted over 230 hours of TV coverage with a viewership in excess of 21 million. For the 2021 season, the BELFOR logo will be on show for the millions to see on Árón’s car.
“Having spoken to BELFOR over the last few months it came apparent that there was a great synergy between their company objectives and what I could provide in the BTCC. It’s the perfect fit and we have some really interesting activation plans for the coming few months to really bring the partnership to life.”
Alasdair Philips, Managing Director, BELFOR UK Ltd had the following to say about the exciting new partnership:
"It is great to have the BELFOR brand associated with Árón and the BTCC program. It is the first time that we have embarked on a motorsport sponsorship program in the UK, which makes it even more exciting for us and we are really looking forward to cheering Árón on throughout the season.”
The BTCC season kicks off on the 8th & 9th of May at Thruxton but Árón’s preseason testing is due to start next month at Brands Hatch when the Cupra hits the track for the very first time.
