June 14th, 2023 - Yongin City Corporation (CEO Choi Chan-yong) presented a plaque of appreciation to Seo Ji-mong, the representative of BELFOR Korea Limited, the restoration company for the restoration of Yongin Mir Stadium, expressing the gratitude of all the employees involved in the project.
Yongin Mir Stadium, managed by Yongin City Corporation, suffered approximately 7.3 billion KRW in facility damages due to an underground parking lot fire on June 7th last year. Approximately two months later, starting from August 25th, the opening and closing ceremonies of the "2022 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition" and athletics competitions were held.
CEO Choi Chan-yong said, "I express my gratitude on behalf of all the employees of Yongin City Corporation for their dedication and efforts in the restoration project, actively resolving inconveniences that could arise for citizens due to the fire and ensuring the smooth hosting of the 2022 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition.
BELFOR Korea played a key role in restoring Yongin Mir Stadium after a fire last year. They quickly assessed the damage and developed a recovery plan, procuring materials and equipment and working nights and weekends to minimize downtime. Their efforts ensured the successful hosting of the “2022 Gyeonggi Province Comprehensive Sports Competition” and the safety of stadium users.
