In the early morning on August 27, Hurricane Laura made landfall along the Louisiana coastline as a Category 4 storm. The hurricane generated storm surge, power outages, and widespread storm damage accompanied by intense 100+ mph winds. Once shifting inland, the storm was downgraded to a Category 2 hurricane yet continued to create wind and flood damage hazards and more for millions across the southeastern U.S.
